Pantone declared GREEN the colour for 2013, so I started reviewing my jewelry making stash to see what I already had. The result is this feather, kumihimo, fabric and chain necklace.
These feathers are considered hat trims. With the addition of a crimp end they dangle quite nicely!
One of the feathers I covered in jewelry resin. This makes my feather very permanent. I really like the glassy surface.
This is new gunmetal chain in the Dazzle-it family! Great for creating a chunky necklace!
For the necklace I threaded a kumihimo cord I'd made, along with some strips of fabric, through the holes in the chain. You could also use pretty ribbons and/or strings of small beads in this way! Just add a clasp and you have an easy necklace!
In the end, I continued to add more feathers since they were already in my package.
So many different looks are possible with this type of necklace design!
